An exercise is planned in the Baltic Sea in case of Russian aggression in the region. In Germany, it was stated that about 30 ships and 3,000 troops would take part in them.

On Friday, September 1, Commander-in-Chief of the German Navy Kai-Achim Schönbach announced large-scale training in the Baltic Sea that designed to prepare soldiers for a potential threat from Russia. Actually, they should start soon.

Exercises in the Baltic Sea

Let's note that these are the first exercises in this region, which are aimed specifically at repelling a potential attack by the Kremlin. That is, the world is beginning to realize that Russia is a threat not only to Ukraine, but also to other states.

We are sending Russia a clear message of vigilance: not on our watch. Strong deterrence must include the ability to attack, Vice Admiral Jan Christian Kaak said in Berlin.

Northern Coasts training is scheduled to begin on September 9th, lasting two weeks, according to Reuters. The troops of all NATO countries will take part in them, as well as Sweden, which will become a member of the Alliance in the near future.

The military will work out landing operations and strikes from sea to land. This will be the first exercise of this magnitude that the German Navy, the largest fleet in the Baltic Sea, will be leading from its new naval headquarters in Rostock. It has already reached operational readiness.
