Gennady Gudkov noted that Nadezhdin’s campaign gave Russians the opportunity to think that they could allegedly influence something. After all, he is not an “opposition” candidate, he was allowed to organize this so-called “protest”.
Nadezhdin understands perfectly well that he is not an opposition candidate. He is the initiator of the permitted protest. People miss some kind of protests. When Boris Nadezhdin appeared, who compared to others had a more or less decent appearance, people stood in line,” said the politician.
Therefore, the Kremlin now has certain inconveniences. After all, it is not beneficial for the Russian authorities to vote for Nadezhdin. And although the results of the “elections” will still be fake, Putin’s elite is still thinking about whether to allow such a revival of “civic activity” in Russia.
Boris Nadezhdin: the main thing
- Boris Nadezhdin is called an “anti-war” and “opposition” candidate. It is known that he does not want to return the occupied territories to Ukraine. However, he assures that he is in favor of ending the Russian-Ukrainian war, since “not a single one of the stated goals of the SVO has been fulfilled.”
- ISW analysts noted that Russia has put forward ” opposition” politician, in order to thus create the illusion of “choice” for its citizens. He has already managed to collect the 100 thousand signatures necessary for registration with the Central Election Commission.
- Russian oppositionist Olga Kurnosova noted that Boris Nadezhdin is rapidly gaining votes. He now ranks second after Vladimir Putin in terms of Russian support and could gain about 10% of the vote in the election. Russians stood in huge lines to sign for him.
- In Russia they refused to allow President Boris Nadezhdin to participate in the “elections”. The Russian politician said that the working group of the Russian Central Election Commission informed him of a significant “shortage of signatures,” amounting to approximately 15%. He stated that he would continue to act and spoke about plans to collect the required number of signatures. If the CEC refuses to register his candidacy, Nadezhdin plans to appeal this decision to the Supreme Court.
