There will be no tanks: Italy said it would not provide offensive weapons to Ukraine

Italy supports Ukraine in the fight against Russian invaders. However, the country will not provide the Armed Forces with offensive weapons.

Despite this, the country promises to work for peace. This was stated by Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani.

Tajani noted that the military situation in Ukraine is very difficult.

We are very concerned, we are all working for peace and, as Parliament decided, we are ready to provide defense weapons. We will never send offensive weapons because we are not at war with Russia, we have nothing in common with the Russian people. – said the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Italy.

He summed up that Italy only seeks to protect the independence of Ukraine.
