The Prime Minister of Hungary once again made a scandalous statement regarding Ukraine. This time he spoke about the oppression of Hungarians on the territory of our state.

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said that his country will not support Ukraine until the rights of ethnic Hungarians are restored. By the way, Orban previously spoke about a “slow” counter-offensive and promoted openly Russian narratives.

Budapest refuses to support Kyiv

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, speaking in parliament, said that Budapest will not support Ukraine in the international arena until “Ukraine restores the former rights of ethnic Hungarians on its territory.”

This is not the first time for Hungary accuses Ukraine of oppressing the rights of approximately 150 thousand ethnic Hungarians in Transcarpathia. The reason is the adoption of a law restricting school teaching of minority languages.

Hungary is a member of the European Union and NATO, which gives it the right to veto Ukraine's accession. At the same time, Orban takes a position different from the line of other Western countries.
