Sowing in Ukraine/Gulyaipole

There will be no shortage of basic food products in Ukraine – chicken eggs, poultry meat, milk and vegetables on the domestic market of Ukraine.

This was stated by Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Taras Vysotsky on the air of the national telethon, channel 24.

Eggs and poultry

Answering the question about the death of 4 million chickens at the Chernobaevskaya poultry farm of the Ukrlandfarming agricultural holding, he noted that before the Russian attack, Ukraine exported up to 40% of eggs.

If such objects are destroyed, we are first of all talking about a reduction in exports, but there will be no shortage in the domestic market. The situation is similar with poultry meat or milk production: the losses that have been incurred can be up to 10-15%, and this primarily concerns the reduction in exports, Vysotsky explained.

Vegetables

< p> He added that this year in the west and in the center of Ukraine, the area under vegetables, which are included in the basic borscht set – cabbage, carrots, beets and potatoes, will be increased. This will cover the partial decrease in production in the South and East.

Grains

Vysotsky stressed that 70% of arable land will be enough not only to meet domestic demand, but also for export, he stressed. According to a pessimistic forecast, this year Ukraine will lose 30% of the gross production of sown crops.

“But still, this is not critical, since we used only about 30-40% of grains and oilseeds for domestic consumption” , โ€“ summed up the Deputy Minister.
