Ukraine and the USA signed a memorandum on joint production and exchange of technical data.
The Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umerov spoke about this following the results of the first day of the Defense Industries Conference DFNC1: US Edition.
He thanked Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin, US Secretary of Commerce Gini Raimondo, colleagues from the State Department and the US National Security Service for their proactive and leadership position in organizing the forum.

— An open, honest dialogue between the Ukrainian and American governments and companies about the localization of production in Ukraine, the current needs and opportunities of our countries, opportunities for the development of cooperation, investment and the construction of joint ventures, — the message says.
Umerov noted that, together with the Minister of Strategic Industries Alexander Kamyshin, the development of the Ukrainian defense industry was identified as one of the work priorities.
According to the head of the Ministry of Defense, next year an unprecedented budget will be allocated for the development of defense production.
— Ukrainian weapons, equipment and technologies should occupy the Russians’ niche in the arms market. To do this, we need a powerful Defense Coalition to join forces in the fight against Russian terror, — he emphasized.
Previously, the Ministry of Defense reported that the priority for 2024 will be strengthening the state’s air defense shield and developing the defense-industrial complex.
