Denmark is ready to join the international coalition to transfer tanks to Ukraine. Denmark also announced the transfer of artillery systems to Ukraine.
President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Denmark is ready to join the international coalition regarding the transfer of tanks to Ukraine. He said this during a briefing after a meeting with Danish Prime Minister Matte Frederiksen in Odessa, writes Channel 24.
Ukraine received howitzers Caesa from Denmark
“I personally thank the Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of Denmark for Denmark's readiness to join our tank coalition,” Zelensky said.
The head of state also thanked Denmark for strengthening the defense of Ukraine and the transfer of Caesar howitzers to the Armed Forces.
Matte Frederiksen assured that Denmark will support Ukraine with everything it needs. She said that tanks “are what we discussed today.”
“We have just handed over artillery systems, but tanks are also needed,” Frederiksen said. The Prime Minister of Denmark noted that she spoke with Zelensky on various topics that are important for Ukraine, but most of the conversation was devoted to tanks.
Ukraine can get more than 300 tanks
- Russia is preparing for a new offensive, as warned by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny, as well as Defense Minister Alexei Reznikov. The West is also warning that new offensive actions are being prepared in the Kremlin.
- At the same time, Ukraine is preparing to repel the attacks of the Russian military, as well as to knock out the invaders. That is why Western partners have increased military assistance to Ukraine.
- In December, Valery Zaluzhny said that he needed 300 tanks to push the invaders to the borders as of February 23, 2022. Ukrainian Ambassador to France Vadim Omelchenko said that the allies promise to provide our state with 321 heavy tanks.
- Ukraine will receive Abrams tanks from the US and Challenger 2 from the UK. It is important that Germany allowed the re-export of Leopard tanks and announced the transfer of several Leopards to Ukraine.
- It should be noted that Ukraine will not receive some tanks immediately. For example, the Challenger 2 may arrive by the end of spring, and the Abrams vehicles may arrive at the end of summer. Therefore, it is most realistic for Ukraine to receive “Leopards” by mid-spring. Our military is starting exercises with Western tanks.
