There were a lot of people: what the protest against Putin at 12 noon showed

by alex

The “Noon Against Putin” action took place in Russia. On the day of the “elections” people opposing the Putin regime came to the polling stations at the same time – at noon on March 17.

Great success was achieved abroad. Many Russians gathered near the embassies of the aggressor country. Russian opposition journalist Igor Yakovenko told 24 Channel about this, noting that a lot of people also came to the rally in Russia.

What the action against Putin showed

According to Yakovenko, since it is safe to go to protests abroad, many people gathered near Russian embassies Russians to the “Noon against Putin” rally, in particular in Bangkok and Almaty.

At the same time, in Russia the authorities tried to “crush” the rally. Information was spreading that those people who came to the polling stations at 12:00 would be prosecuted by law. This is a signal from the Kremlin that there can be no safe protest in Russia.

One of the arguments for this promotion was that it was safe. But this is a mistake, because there are no safe protests in a fascist totalitarian country, noted a Russian opposition journalist.

What threatens people who came to the rally

Yakovenko noted that despite the threat, Russians who cannot emigrate and join Russian volunteer formations are looking for alternative ways to demonstrate their protest against the dictatorial regime of Vladimir Putin.

In particular, there were “acts of desperation” when people set fire to ballot boxes and doused ballot papers at polling stations with green paint. Many of them are facing criminal charges. For example, in 15 such episodes, Russians will be tried under article 141 (obstruction of the activities of election commissions), which provides for up to 5 years in prison.

However, the State Duma and the abnormal alcoholic Dmitry Medvedev demand that they be tried under the article “treason” up to life imprisonment. We hope that Medvedev’s nonsense will not be implemented, but some people will get 5 years. They understand that they will not be able to influence the outcome of the elections, but at least they tried to preserve their conscience,” stated Igor Yakovenko.
