A new head of customs may soon be appointed/Customs Service
On the sidelines of the Verkhovna Rada, there is talk that a new head of the State Customs Service of Ukraine may be appointed.
This may happen very soon. MP, member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance Galina Vasilchenko spoke exclusively about this on Channel 24.
So, last week, the head of customs was supposed to attend the meeting of the committee, but he did not come – he left on a business trip. His deputies spoke instead.
There is talk that a new head of customs is expecting us in the near future,” Vasylchenko said.
The main problem of customs
She also added that when representatives from abroad come to Ukraine , then, first of all, they meet with representatives of the customs.
“I really want them to be the “face” of the state. But there are really a lot of complex issues here. One cannot say that all customs officers or all tax officials are bad. I know for sure that there are many people and ordinary customs officers who are responsible and take care of their work,” the people's deputy added.
However, according to her, there is a huge problem with the financing of this service. Therefore, first of all, it is necessary to provide them with normal wages, and then effectively control them so that there is no corruption in any case.
“However, as of today, when almost all customs, excise or tax payments, in connection with a full-scale war, we understand that the moments of corruption risks have been reduced,” she added.
What is known about the current head of customs
- The Cabinet of Ministers temporarily assigned acting head of the State Customs Service on Vyacheslav Demchenko on November 5, 2021.
- So, then the government dismissed Pavel Ryabikin, head of the State Customs Service, who was appointed by the Council on November 4, 2021 to the post of Minister for Strategic Industries.< /li>
- Previously, Demchenko was the head of intelligence of the State Border Service.
