There is support, but there are many myths: how Italians now feel about Russia's war against Ukraine

There is a lot of support and interest in Italy for our state. However, unfortunately, there are also many myths about Ukraine spread by Russian propaganda. Italians still believe in some of them.

Moreover, these myths are widespread not only in Italy, but also in other European countries, in particular Austria and Germany. Olesya Yaremchuk, a journalist and writer, told Channel 24 about this.

The most common myth about Ukraine

These myths are very similar in all these countries. You can guess that this is a consequence of Russian propaganda that has been working here for years, – the writer noted.

According to her, one of the most common myths in these countries is that neither Ukraine nor Russia wants peace. This is due to the fact that Europeans often advise our state to “sacrifice its territories for the sake of peace.” Yes, it is difficult for them to understand what kind of so-called peace with Russia can be discussed after all the crimes and atrocities that the Russians have committed in our country.

Consequently, the journalist stressed that serious work needs to be done to dispel all these myths. In addition, Europeans should understand that Ukrainians are fighting not only for themselves, but also for peace throughout Europe.
