There is some progress in negotiations regarding strengthening the border security of the United States of America, which Republicans made as a condition for the release of military aid to Ukraine and Israel.
This was reported by Bloomberg with reference to messages from senators. In particular, John Cornyn noted that he spoke with negotiators that they feel progress is being made. He called these negotiations very delicate.
At the same time, Democratic Senator Joe Manchin said that the negotiations were going very positively. Among the proposals discussed — expansion of the president's powers to deport migrants if illegal border crossings exceed a certain number.

However, Republican Lindsey Graham believes that the bill still requires a lot of technical work, despite some progress.
So he doesn't expect everything to be agreed before December 31st. In his opinion, the vote can only take place next year.
