Ukraine has received permission from the US to strike Russia, but it is important to know how this will happen in practice.
This was stated by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at a press conference in Stockholm after the Ukraine-Northern Europe summit.
When asked if he could confirm reports of limited US permission to use American weapons for attacks on Russian territory, the head of state replied:

He noted that he could not talk about the message from the American side in detail, but “wants to see in practice what will happen”.
— But I think that, in any case, this is a definite step forward towards the goal that we talked about earlier, to make it possible to protect our people living in villages across the demarcation line,” Zelensky noted.
For his part, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken officially confirmed that President Joe Biden gave Ukraine permission to use American weapons on military targets on Russian territory.
— Over the past few weeks, Ukraine has approached us and asked for permission to use the weapons we provide to defend against this aggression, including Russian troops massing on the Russian side of the border and then attacking Ukraine. This is the right of the President, and, as you have heard, he has approved the use of our weapons for this purpose, — he said.
