The US plans to announce a long-term military mission to support Ukraine soon. Pessimists see this as a sign that the war with Russia will continue for a long time.
However, the US military mission should be viewed from a positive point of view. This opinion Channel 24 was expressed by the director of practical policy programs at the Institute of Political Education Alexander Solontai.
What is positive for Ukraine
According to him, Russia wants to force Ukraine to sign a truce and refuse to de-occupy our territories. At the same time, Western countries do not put pressure on Kyiv and do not push to sign peace at any cost.
“Earlier, some of our partners tried to convey to Kyiv that peace is more important than the liberation of Donetsk, Lugansk, Crimea. And now they say: “We will help you. Even if it is a long and exhausting campaign, we will help you with weapons, generals, people, technologies, and control systems. Where is the pessimism? the political scientist said.
There is optimism in this. After all, Ukraine has tuned in to the complete de-occupation of its territories. And the world fully supports us in this,” Solontai stressed. The Western support for Ukraine makes the enemy go berserk. As the political scientist noted, the Russians had a minimum plan: to capture Kharkov and the South to Odessa, and then stop at a truce.
The plans of the infidels went head over heels because Chernigov, Sumy, Kyiv and Kharkov. Now the Russians want to keep at least what they have captured. But they can’t even do that,” Solontai emphasized.
This is because the Ukrainians are serious about liberating the occupied territories with the help of international partners.
“The world is moving in the right direction”
He added that Western weapons helped Ukraine to hold back the advance of the Russian army. Now the Armed Forces of Ukraine need those types of weapons that will help in the future to conduct a counter-offensive operation.
” There can be grounds for pessimism only in the matter of speed(providing weapons – channel 24). But we see that the world is moving in the right direction – supporting Ukraine,” Solontai said.
