Russia continues to bring equipment and personnel to the border with the Sumy region. However, most likely, now the Russian occupiers are not planning a second invasion of this region.
This was announced on the air of the national marathon by the head of the Sumy regional military administration, Dmitry Zhivitsky. He stressed that now there are no fears about the Russian invasion of the Sumy region.
Probable re-offensive
Zhyvitsky noted that the Ukrainian defense forces now look very different than before February 24, 2022. He stressed that the Russians are afraid of any counteraction on our part.
As the head of the UVA noted, that is why the invaders are shelling the border territories of Ukraine, including the villages of the Sumy region. In addition, they open fire on Ukrainian border guards with small arms and machine guns.
Now there is no strike group of Russians that could enter the Sumy region, – said Zhivitsky.
Russian reinforcements
According to him, sometimes they observe the active arrival and unloading of Russian armored vehicles in the border areas of the Sumy region, but most of them depart further – to Belgorod. Most likely, these are the forces that reinforce Russian units in the territories of the Kharkov, Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
Of course, we are monitoring the situation to be ready for anything. As long as there is a war, as long as Russia exists as an empire, anything can be expected from it at any moment,” Zhivitsky summed up.
Constant shelling
At the same time, the head of the UVA said that yesterday the day ended with another shelling of Russian invaders on peaceful settlements in the Sumy region. He noted that there were no dead, but 1 person was injured. Residential houses and outbuildings were also damaged.
Zhivitsky added that tonight, June 8, passed quietly, there were no reports of shelling. However, he stressed that they could start at any time, since Russia has been preparing every day for 2 months in the Sumy region. >
