There are still a large number of Russian mines in the Kyiv region. Explosives work hard to find and destroy all projectiles.

Due to the threat of mines, it is impossible to visit the beaches and forests. Andriy Nebitov, head of the police of the Kyiv region, told about this on the air of the national telethon, channel 24 reports. “bloquote cke-markup”>Specialists are working hard to find all the explosive devices left from the fighting. All territories under occupation are still dangerous. In addition to unexploded shells and mines, there are traps and tripwires that the Russians deliberately left in order to kill as many civilians as possible,” Nebitov noted.

He noted that explosives are actively working, but the scale of the territories hostilities are very large.

According to Nebitov, the danger exists not only in their territories, which were previously under occupation. After all, the Russians were actively shelling the region. Missile debris and unexploded shells could fall anywhere. Therefore, outdoor recreation should be postponed until safer times.

The head of the Kiev region police told 2 stories about how local residents of the Kiev region exploded on mines:

  • in the Vyshgorod district, 2 people went to the forest for firewood and exploded;
  • in the Buchansky district one person drove down a dirt road and exploded on a mine.

Fortunately, the victims from both stories survived.

After February 24, we have no safe areas. Once again I urge citizens to be very attentive. It is unsafe for life and health. You endanger not only yourself, but also your loved ones and children whom you take on vacation with you,” Nebitov emphasized.

The latest tragic cases of mines

  • June 11 in the village Gribovtsy near Odessa in the Black Sea killed a resident of the Donetsk region. A 50-year-old man went to swim in the sea, but stepped on a Russian mine, which broke loose from the anchor and reached the shore. The husband was blown up in front of his wife, son and friend. By the way, the comrade of the deceased miraculously survived, because he was not far away.
  • Even this tragic story did not force the inhabitants of Odessa to leave the beaches. Despite a strict ban and huge risks, people continue to swim in the sea and sunbathe on the beach. Thus, they create additional work for the patrolmen, since law enforcement officers are forced to disperse the vacationers.
  • In the village of Lazurnoye, Kherson region, on June 3, 3 local residents exploded in a Russian minivan. It is known that they stumbled upon a projectile on the beach near the recreation center “Sail”. All three died at the scene.
