The governor of the Belgorod region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, said on Thursday that the shopping center in the city was closed until the end of this day. It is not yet known whether they will open on March 15th. Gladkov stated that everything will depend on the situation.

At the same time, the governor explained the closure of shopping centers as an alleged request from the city residents themselves.

There were many requests from you to close shopping centers. We have actually already done this – they are now closing. We agreed that until the end of the day. In the following days, everything will depend on the operational situation,” Gladkov said.

He also stated that allegedly 2 people died in their cars on March 14 in Belgorod. Gladkov called on car owners to postpone their trips.

What's happening in Belgorod

  • On March 14, the Russian Volunteer Corps addressed residents of the Kursk and Belgorod regions with an important message. Volunteers called on the local population to evacuate and warned that the RDC would strike military targets in these regions of Russia approximately 1.5 hours after the official appeal.
