Materials about Ukraine's involvement in undermining the Nord Streams, which simultaneously appeared in the leading Western media, have a Russian trace and indicate attempts by customers to quarrel Ukraine with Germany and other Western partners.
This conclusion was made by the research and analytical group InfoLight.UA based on their own investigation.
In the publication “Ukraine is again attacked in the information field: what is wrong with the materials about sabotage at Nord Stream”, the researchers note that materials about Ukraine’s alleged involvement in sabotage on Russian gas pipelines appeared on the same day in the American The New York Times and in the European conglomerate by ARD broadcasting company, ARD Kontraste magazine and SWR and ZEIT publications. At the same time, none of these materials contain any evidence or even references to sources of information.
A New York Times article reported that “new intelligence suggests that the attack on the Nord gas pipeline
Stream was implemented by a “pro-Ukrainian group”. At the same time, there is no evidence, no direct quotes indicating the names and positions in the material. No less controversial is the material of the European conglomerate. It contains a little more specific data, but they look even more drawn “by the ears” to Ukraine, the InfoLight.UA researchers conclude.
They also note that both materials use the term pro-Ukrainian group – “pro-Ukrainian group”.
“We note that this term pro-Ukrainian group (“pro-Ukrainian group”) is used in both materials that appeared on the same day on both sides of the Atlantic. In independent groups of journalists,” InfoLight.UA notes.
The lack of facts and direct evidence, the customers of these materials tried to compensate for by attracting well-known journalists, the researchers state.
The materials appeared behind the authorship of very authoritative journalists. Accordingly, the apparent lack of any evidence in the materials was compensated by big names. What should divert attention from the content of the articles and the “strange” synchronism of the appearance of these materials, – says the publication InfoLight.UA.
The ordered nature of the publications is also betrayed by the reaction of Russian propagandists to their appearance, the investigators note.
“They should have taken these versions to the flag and started to spin this story as much as possible, strengthening the accusations against Ukraine. However, most of them continue to insist on the previous version – that Nord Streams blew up the United States. This means that Russia is playing the game simultaneously on two boards On the one hand, there are attempts to quarrel at least Ukraine and Germany, and the materials that we have studied testify precisely to this, on the other hand, the continued escalation of the hatred of Russian society towards the Americans, since according to “Putin's general line” it is the United States that is now the main enemy of Russia, with whom it is waging war on. In the end, admitting to its population that the Ukrainians are capable of disrupting the top geopolitical projects of Russia is a blow to the reputation of all Russian special services combined,” writes InfoLight.UA.
Even a publication by a European media conglomerate states that “in international security circles, it is not ruled out that this could also be a false flag operation.”
The official position of Ukraine is well known – we have nothing to do with these events. Also, everything points to Russia as probably the customer of this undermining. And the appearance of such materials and the reaction of Russian representatives to them is another confirmation of this,” the authors of the publication sum up in InfoLight.UA.
As reported, on September 26, 2022, explosions occurred on the Russian gas pipelines Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2, which led to a gas leak. As a result of this, gas supplies through these pipelines were stopped. At that time, many officials claimed that Russia was involved in the explosions.
