There is enough money for de-occupation: what is the main “but” of military assistance from the United States

Joe Biden signed a law to help Ukraine for almost 61 billion dollars. Meanwhile, the US announced its first aid package worth $1 billion. The money allocated is enough to de-occupy the territories, however, there is a question of emphasis on weapons.

This is the opinion Channel 24said military expert, reserve colonel of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Petr Chernik, noting that the emphasis on this matter will be clear after the third or fourth package of American assistance. He added that we are talking no earlier than July-August. Let us note that the US President signed the law on assistance to Ukraine on April 24.

“We see only the first large package. The question is what will be the next ones and where will the emphasis on providing weapons be shifted” , said Chernik.

For example, the emphasis on military assistance for Ukraine may be on armored vehicles, anti-aircraft missile defense or strengthening of artillery. Now this is difficult to predict.

Possible collapse of enemy logistics

Earlier it became known that the United States could transfer more than 100 ATACMS to Ukraine. The military expert added that one such long-range missile costs $1.5 million. And there are about 2000 of these missiles in warehouses.

So give another 500, 600, 700, 800 – why not? We, as the operating country of M142 HIMARS and M270 (MLRS – Channel 24), are second in the world. Then, indeed, it is possible to collapse the logistics of the southern front. This is possible,” emphasized Pyotr Chernik.

Then the enemy soldier in the trench will have no ammunition, and Russian artillery and aviation will not have ammunition. There will also be no fuel. This is because nothing will reach the enemy.

“There is nothing to fuel tanks or other armored vehicles with. It is possible to break through this important line from the Zaporozhye bridgehead down, close to the Molochny Liman. I don’t know if this will happen,” added the reserve colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
