Ukrainian defense forces have advanced near Avdiivka, where positional battles continue.
In particular, geolocation footage released on February 5 shows that Ukrainian forces have recently advanced northeast of Nevelskoye (southwest of Avdiivka), according to the latest report from the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) .
At the same time, analysts did not find confirmation of information from Russian sources that the occupation forces allegedly advanced in southeastern Pervomaisky (southwest of Avdievka) and to a depth of one kilometer in the north of Avdeevka.

ISW writes that positional battles are now continuing to the northwest of Avdievka — in the area of Novobakhmutovka and Stepnoy, west of Avdeevka — near Tonenky and Severny, as well as to the southwest of Avdeevka — in the area of Pervomaiskoye and Nevelskoye.

The day before, the head of the Avdeevka MBA, Vitaly Barabash, once again denied the alleged Russian breakthrough into the city.
The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces also stated on the morning of February 6 that in the Avdiivka direction, Ukrainian defenders continue to hold back the enemy, who is not abandoning attempts to encircle Avdiivka.
