Accidents occurred on 3 different flights in Russia. All these problematic aircraft belong to one local airline.

All accidents occurred on January 12 on flights of the Russian airline Pobeda. The reason was the lack of certified aircraft maintenance.

What is known about the accidents

The first accident occurred on the flight Cheboksary – Moscow. When the plane reached Cheboksary airport, its main landing gear caught fire during landing. The pilots saw the sensor signals and reported this to the dispatcher, which is why an alarm was declared at the airport. The Russians later failed to find a visible source of fire during an inspection. As a result, the airliner was towed, and the flight was delayed for 11 hours.

The second accident occurred on the Moscow – Barnaul flight. When the plane was over the Omsk region, its right side inertial system broke down. The automatic landing function also failed. In addition, the bar on the co-pilot’s screen that showed where to move the steering wheel stopped working. As a result, the plane was forced to land at the Novosibirsk airfield. The transport reached its destination in 2.5 hours, and the return flight was delayed by 3 hours.

The third accident occurred on the Moscow – Ufa flight. While flying over Chuvashia, the pilots reported the smell of burnt wiring in the plane's toilet and asked permission to land in Ufa. As a result, passengers reached the Russian capital 2.5 hours later than they expected.

Russia also has problems with airports

  • Recently, Russian military pilots froze to death at the Millerovo airfield. They asked through telegram channels to send firewood and a battery. Later, these pilots received a reprimand from management for this.
  • As previously reported, the airport in Orenburg caught fire on New Year's Eve. The fire was caused by a short circuit. As a result, people had to be evacuated and flights had to be rescheduled for 10 hours.
