The article by General Valery Zaluzhny and Lieutenant General Mikhail Zabrodsky is a very important text. Probably, the informal co-authors of the publication were US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin and US Army Chief of Staff Mark Milley.
This opinion was expressed by a Russian publicist from Washington on Channel 24 stream on YouTube Andrey Piontkovsky. He suggests that this text could have been created as a result of a joint discussion between the Ukrainian and American military leadership. After all, similar theses, set out in Zaluzhny's article, were voiced in Pentagon statements.
Piontkovsky notes that this is a very important text. After all, judging by this material, the statements of the Pentagon and the Ramstein-5 meeting, it is clear that the United States and the entire West are rigidly focused on the victory of Ukraine. Previously, the position of the United States in this sense was not so clear.

America needs a military victory for Ukraine
Piontkovsky recalled a letter from 20 high-ranking US military and diplomats to Joe Biden that they wrote in August. They emphasized that Ukraine must immediately provide all the weapons necessary for victory. They also urged the US leadership to finally decide, what is the purpose of their assistance – a military victory for Ukraine or maintaining a certain balance, preventing escalation.
As Piontkovsky noted earlier, the US leadership viewed the war against Ukraine differently. For example, the wing of United States national security adviser Jake Sullivan believed that it was not worth escalating and providing Ukraine with even more long-range weapons so as not to provoke Russia.
However, the wing of Lloyd Austin, Mark Milley and Secretary of State Anthony Blinken supports the idea of a military victory for Ukraine. And, apparently, this point of view won out.
In his material, Zaluzhny considers how Russia's war against Ukraine can develop further and how to win it. One of the theses is that Ukraine should receive weapons from the allies to strike at military targets in the depths of Russian territory.
The theses of this article actually echo the statements of the Pentagon leaders. This point of view of Austin and Blinken finally won out. This day, August 8, should be remembered. America decided to fight together with Ukraine for victory over Russia, for the restoration of territorial integrity and so that Russia could never repeat such aggression again,” Piontkovsky emphasized. outlined the further vision of Russia's war against Ukraine. Alexander Musienko, head of the Center for Military Legal Research, highlighted the most important provisions of this material.
