The Russian military launched a missile attack on the energy infrastructure of the Zhytomyr region on the morning of October 18th. As a result of an enemy attack, there are problems with water supply and electricity in the city.
This was announced by the mayor of Zhitomir, Sergei Sukhomlin, during a telethon. He noted that, despite the rocket attacks in the city, hospitals continued their work, which were transferred to backup power.
Two people were injured
Indeed, today there were 3 arrivals in the energy infrastructure of Zhytomyr. In fact, the city was without electricity for an hour. Gradually, our emergency teams, power engineers are doing everything possible to connect the city to electricity. Some areas are already connected,” he noted.
He also added that two people were injured as a result of the missile attack. One of them had to be hospitalized.
According to according to the mayor, some Vodokanal facilities have also resumed their work. As for electricity, they promise to restore it throughout the city in the near future.
Regarding emergency shutdowns, information can be said later, Sukhomlin said. Now the damage caused by the Russians with their missile attack is being assessed.
