Discussions regarding the use of frozen assets of the Russian Federation to help Ukraine are still ongoing, and a collective decision will be announced at the G7 summit.
The Minister of Justice Denis Malyuska spoke about this on the telethon.
– The United States has taken the first important step. They decided to give the US administration the right to confiscate Russian assets. Fully, not completely, interest, income from them – it doesn’t matter. The right was granted. The United States has shown that this is legally legal, the minister said.
He noted that the United States is trying to bring other countries under this strategy, but this cannot be done completely; the discussion continues regarding the need to do something with income from Russian assets.

— There are many options. Discussions are ongoing. But the key thing is that it must be collective. The collective decision in Italy will be announced (at the G7 summit, – Ed.). I think we will understand at the beginning of June what will happen to the assets, — added Malyuska.
Use of frozen assets of the Russian Federation
The Minister of Justice noted that in a super-optimistic scenario — there will be confiscation of currently frozen Russian assets.
There is another more neutral scenario, according to which there will be a withdrawal of income for a certain loan – so that such income, accrued 10 years in advance, will be paid now in one tranche.
– Under the pessimistic scenario, only the current deduction of income accrued from Russian assets. This is a maximum of 5 billion euros per year. But maybe less. This is a pessimistic scenario. Our task is to ask our partners for a radical solution, — he added.
