Following the meeting of the European Council, good decisions were made regarding support for Ukraine in the security sphere and further pressure on Russia.

Volodymyr Zelensky thanked the President of the European Council António Costa and the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen for their leadership and support for Ukraine and stressed that Ukraine and the EU defend common values and fight for peace together.
The head of state also said that Ukraine must implement partners' sanctions packages in its own jurisdiction, as well as implement Ukrainian sanctions against Russia in key world jurisdictions. All this is necessary to end the war and bring real peace.
According to the head of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, Ukraine has fulfilled all the conditions for starting negotiations on joining the European Union. The next steps are now up to the EU.
Earlier it was reported that the EU had agreed on a long-term financial support package for Ukraine in the amount of €30 billion.
