Ukraine is building three defense lines 2 thousand km long in different directions — in Avdeevsky, in Zaporozhye and in the north of the country. They will all be delivered around the same time.
This was stated in an interview with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky to the military man, presenter and journalist of the Vikna-noviny program Orest Drimalovsky, as well as Lyudmila Dobrovolskaya, journalist of the We — Ukraine.
The head of state noted that even in the Chernihiv region, where there is no military action, everything is being greatly strengthened, and there will also be three lines of defense there.

— The quality approach to all lines of defense, regardless of direction, is the same but standard. And according to the deadlines — they are approximately the same, but the closer to hot areas, the faster everything is built, that’s the requirement. Although everyone will take the test at approximately the same time, — says the head of state.
He noted that in a couple of months everything will be ready — such obligations for all three lines.
— In some areas, in particular hot ones, 92%-98% of the work has already been completed, — Zelensky said.
Fortifications at the front are not enough
Work continues now on reliable shelters, they are being built according to the request of the military. In addition, Zelensky noted that it cannot be said that there are really enough fortifications at the front.
— Can this (building fortifications, — Ed.) be sufficient? Probably during a war there is no such assessment as completely sufficient. There are natural conditions – the Chernihiv region is also protected by nature, there is a swamp area. We know this clearly, because the DRG groups and our Armed Forces and Security Service responded perfectly. But it’s not enough yet, so we’re working, — adds the head of state.
Also, according to the president, in the Chernihiv region both nature protects and does not help in some areas — there is a lot of groundwater, a lot of things have floated from what was built in 2022 or even earlier. Therefore, now some things are being made even more durable.
Recall that on April 5, Vladimir Zelensky held a coordination meeting regarding Chernigov and the region and inspected the fortifications.
