Pentagon about Belarus' participation in the war in Ukraine/volynnews
The Belarusian armed forces do not intend to participate in a full-scale war in Ukraine, according to the US Department of Defense. This statement was voiced there against the backdrop of a sudden check of their combat capability.
This information was reported by Pentagon Speaker John Kirby, Ukrinform reports. He is convinced that Belarus will not take an active part in a full-scale Russian military invasion of Ukraine.
So far, there are no signs that Belarus intends to become an active participant in the war in Ukraine, Kirby said.
At the same time, the Pentagon spokesman said that he would not comment on the military exercises in Belarus.
The journalists of the publication “Belarusian Gayun” analyzed the data and came up with statistics, according to which, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russia, at least 631 rockets have been launched from the territory of Belarus into Ukraine.
What is happening in Belarus
Recall , that recently the Belarusian Ministry of Defense stated that the Armed Forces of Belarus have begun to check the response forces. They noted that during this inspection, subunits and military units should work out the issues of putting on alert, marching to designated areas and performing combat training tasks.
It is noted that eyewitnesses noticed the movement of columns of military equipment across the territory of Belarus. Response photos were posted online on May 4. The column consisted of about 25-30 pieces of equipment. Among them are 5P85 rocket launchers and a 5N63 target illumination radar with a combat control center. They were moving towards Ukraine and Lithuania.
The UK Department of Defense intelligence believes that Russia is probably trying to create a picture of a threat to Ukraine. The Russians want Ukrainian forces to be concentrated in the North and reduced in numbers in the East and South.
Subsequently, the self-proclaimed President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, said that Belarus could not threaten anyone, because he knew who “opposed” them and added that it is not in his interests to resolve the conflict in the West.
Soon, the Belarusian dictator Lukashenko gave an interview to the Associated Press news agency, in which he stated that Belarus “does not intend to participate in a special operation of the armed forces of the Russian Federation in Ukraine”.
