Two years after the seizure of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant by Russian troops, not a single employee of the Ukrainian national company Energoatom remained at the enterprise.
40 shift supervisors left the territory of the region, temporarily controlled by Russia, the occupiers broke contracts with eight employees, nine people refused to sign extensions of contracts with the occupation authorities, therefore they do not have access to jobs.

— Now they only have eight shift supervisors left — people directly responsible for nuclear and radiation safety. However, Russian personnel cannot reliably operate the station, — he emphasized.
According to Kotin, even before the full-scale invasion, the nuclear units at Zaporizhzhya NPP were modernized, their designs differ significantly from their analogues in the Russian Federation, and employees are not able to operate them without a Ukrainian license.
Note that according to Energoatom, as of the beginning of 2022, almost 9 thousand qualified employees worked at Zaporozhye NPP.
