Schroeder has close ties with Putin/European Pravda
Germany believes that Ex-Chancellor Gerhard Schröder's close ties with Vladimir Putin have a negative impact on Berlin. Like, therefore, all the positive things in Schroeder's activities were relegated to the background.
This was stated by German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier in an interview with one of the German publications. Earlier, Steinmeier recalled Schröder's work in Russian energy companies.
Schröder's work with Russia raised many questions in Europe
Gerhard Schröder's work in Russian energy companies raised a lot issues in Europe, especially among our Eastern European neighbors, including in our country. Steinmeier emphasized.
The politician noted that there is nothing good in such trends. The President recalled that he was the head of the office when the German government was headed by Schroeder. However, now Steinmeier is not averse to distancing himself from this.
The German President assures that for 15 years he and Schröder have been following different paths. They say that he definitely does not approve of the work of the ex-chancellor with Russia.
Schroeder resigned from the post of head of Rosneft
It should be noted that Gerhard Schroeder stepped down as chairman of the board of directors of the Russian oil and gas company Rosneft. However, this happened after a wave of mass criticism in social networks and the media. The German parliament took away certain rights from the ex-chancellor, and also suspended funding for his office.
