Ukraine’s foreign policy relations with any country should be considered for the long term. It cannot happen that no attention was paid to Africa for 30 years, but over the last 3 years of communication great results have been achieved.

This is the opinion 24 Channelsaid Marta Oleynik-Demochko, an Africanist researcher at the Global Ukraine Foundation, noting that right now Ukraine needs political support from Africa on international platforms.

What are the benefits of cooperation between Ukraine and Africa

The Africanist researcher said that Ukraine needs to break off relations between Africa and Russia, and generally marginalize the terrorist country. Don't forget about Vladimir Putin's “big” plans for the Global South.

At the same time, African countries may be interested in innovative products in Ukraine, in particular, the IT sphere, which is actively developing in Nigeria and Ghana. Our country has something that Africans may like. There may also be joint ventures, for example in Poland.

African countries may also be interested in pharmaceuticals and military experience, but after victory. As is known, the second option is of interest to Côte d'Ivoire, – noted Marta Oleynik-Dyomocko.

We should also mention Ghana, a large state in West Africa, which is stable and constantly criticizes Russia's presence in the region. Ghana has its own vision of how anti-terrorist activities should develop. In particular, Ukraine could become a partner here and help strengthen security capabilities.

In addition, Africa may be interested in the transport sector and shipping, including river and lake shipping. Also the agricultural sector, with which the continent has serious problems. This is not only food supplies, but also fertilizers, training and exchange of experience.

“Ukraine has something to offer the African continent. It's just that when there is a war in the country, not everything can work now. But after our victory, we have many points of intersection,” the Africanist researcher stated.
