There are 2 types left in Kherson region communications, – activist

Activist Molchanov about communications in the Kherson region and propaganda of Russians/Collage 24 channels

Residents of temporarily occupied Kherson have only 2 ways to get at least some information about what is happening in Ukraine – use a VPN or watch Ukrainian channels through satellite dishes.

There is practically no connection and propaganda works

Kherson activist Vladimir Molchanov told Channel 24 about this. According to him, with the help of VPN services, Kherson residents can access Ukrainian sites through traditional wired Internet providers, which now use Russian routers. And the owners of satellite dishes still have access to Ukrainian television.

There are no other ways, mobile communications do not work practically anywhere,” the activist explained.

Catching the Ukrainian cellular network is possible only in the settlements of the front line. However, there is another problem – there is no electricity. In addition, the majority of people there are sitting in basements, since Russian infidels shoot literally at everything that moves.

Molchanov noted that Russian propaganda in the Kherson region is working quite actively. There is already a part of the population that has switched to watching Russian TV channels and in the public space begins to voice the narratives spread by Russian propagandists.

True, as a rule, these people are not leaders of public opinion. More often these are pensioners who did not use the Internet before and do not do it now. Having received Russian channels instead of the usual Ukrainian ones on their TVs, they gradually switched.

Molchanov noted that in order to more or less calmly accept such a change in rhetoric, perhaps, one must initially be pro-Russian. in particular, it is difficult to perceive. Therefore, it is necessary to really be pro-Russian at first, to hate both Ukraine as such and Maidan,” the activist suggests.

Summing up, Molchanov stated that there are still such people, and, unfortunately, there will not be less of them. That is, it must be taken into account that a minority of Kherson residents will still be carriers of pro-Russian views.
