South Korea condemned the alliance between the DPRK and Russia and the decision to send North Korean soldiers to Russia to participate in the war against Ukraine.
This was stated by the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea Cho Tae-yol, the Yonhap publication reported.
The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea on sending DPRK troops to Russia
— We strongly condemn the illegal actions of Russia and North Korea and want to clearly state that they will have consequences, — Cho said, referring to the deployment of North Korean troops on the side of the Russian Federation in the war against Ukraine.
He added that North Korea must realize that it can be held accountable under international criminal law depending on the specific actions of its troops.

Regarding Russia, Cho noted that it is impossible to maintain relations with Moscow as before while it continues its illegal invasion of Ukraine, violating the UN Charter and international law.
According to the head of the South Korean Foreign Ministry, the DPRK will now most likely “take advantage of the change of power in the United States to carry out a major provocation for a dramatic effect”.
He added that Pyongyang will wait until the last minute to assess its options in order to get the maximum benefit, bearing in mind the possibility of Donald Trump's victory.
Recall that on October 23, US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin confirmed that the US government has confirmation of North Korea sending troops to Russia, but the purpose of their deployment is still unclear.
