The command of one of the battalions in the Odessa region sold mobilization armor and fake UBD certificates for more than 100 million UAH.

The organizer of the crimes was the former commander of a separate battalion stationed in the region.

He created a real corruption network, involving four subordinates, including two of his deputies.
The most cynical scheme was the sale of conscription exemptions.
The military fictitiously recruited local entrepreneurs and acquaintances to serve in their unit for 5 thousand US dollars per person.
These pseudo-mobilized soldiers never showed up at their units, but transferred their official salaries monthly to the battalion command’s bank cards.
In effect, military leaders traded the opportunity to avoid military service during the war.
At the same time, the suspects were selling counterfeit military IDs and illegally selling fuel intended for military equipment.
Law enforcement officers detained all participants in the corruption network. During the searches, they seized phones and bank cards with evidence of criminal transactions.
Five military personnel – the former battalion commander, the current deputy battalion commander, the deputy for logistics, the head of the PMM warehouse and the company commander – were informed of suspicion of misappropriation of property by an organized group, official forgery and abuse of influence.
All defendants are currently in custody. They face up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.
