The Department of Cultural Heritage Protection of the Kyiv City State Administration reported about the unauthorized demolition of the Zelensky estate in Kyiv, which dates back to 1890, on the evening of July 19.

What is known about the Zelensky estate

The Malinin or Zelensky estate — a two-story building in Kyiv on Oleksandr Konissky Street, 22, built in 1890 from wood and covered with brick.

It was built as an estate for the merchant and professor Vasily Malinin, and later the family of the tradesman Zelensky lived there.

This is one of the oldest buildings on Konissky Street and the last wooden building on the street.

It is included in the List of historic buildings in need of additional protection.
