Ukrainian defenders continue to defend heroically at Azovstal in Mariupol. However, the situation is getting worse as even basic medicines are lacking.
In addition, there are often problems with food. Valeria, with the call sign Nava, who is an Azov fighter and is now surrounded with her brothers, told about this in an interview with Channel 24.
The smallest injuries can be critical
According to the defender, now the situation at the surrounded enterprise is very difficult. Doctors there continue to work almost around the clock. At the same time, there is a terrible lack of even painkillers for anesthesia. Of particular danger to life is the fact that there are few antibiotics left.Now even the slightest wound of a warrior can lead to tragedy. There is a big risk of getting sepsis, peritonitis, gangrene.
There is not enough food for people. There is no water for our wounded soldiers. In fact, there is really nothing to feed them normally,” said the Azov fighter.
She added that our soldiers are brought to the field hospital with severed limbs, shrapnel wounds and gunshot wounds. However, it is extremely difficult to help them in such conditions.
What is happening in Mariupol now
- Occupiers besieged Mariupol in early March. They could not take the city for a long time, so they simply began active shelling and bombing.
- Subsequently, the Ukrainian defenders withdrew to the Azovstal enterprise. There they took up the defense, which has long turned into a manifestation of incredible heroism.
- The Russians sent an incredible number of troops to push the soldiers out of there. However, this is to no avail, even despite the constant bombing of the plant.
- More than once it has been said about the possible use of chemical weapons by the enemy. One of the leaders of the Donetsk quasi-republic even called for this.
- At the same time, there are many civilians in the storage facilities of the enterprise. Among them are women, children and even babies.
- Ukraine cannot unblock Mariupol by military means. Therefore, the critical situation is only getting worse.
