Today, September 25, the occupied Melitopol, Zaporozhye region, celebrates City Day. Unfortunately, this time people are not up to the celebration.
The Mayor Ivan Fedorov appealed to Melitopol residents on this occasion. After all, right now the city is writing a new history – both its own and the whole of Ukraine.
Melitopol has always been famous both in Ukraine and far beyond its borders. But today Melitopol residents, like all Ukrainians, are writing the newest history of our country. And an unconditional fact: Melitopol will sound proud on its pages, – said the mayor.
He recalled how thousands of people went to rallies against the occupation. Now many of the townspeople are fighting for our future in battle with the enemy or helping the inhabitants in the rear. In total, 150 thousand people live in the city and they resist the invaders. Who loudly and even quietly says: we are Melitopol, we are Ukraine.
“Today our city is famous for you, Melitopol residents. And Ukraine, like the whole world, is proud of your invincibility. After all, with everything we believe: our heroic the defenders will liberate Melitopol from the enemy horde,” Fedorov said.
According to him, everyone is now doing everything for the common goal to return life. The mayor assured that everyone would build the future together in cozy Ukrainian and most importantly peaceful Melitopol.
How the city lives now
- Since Russian invasion Melitopol became occupied. The Russians commit arbitrariness and crimes, torture, robberies there. Also in the city, as in other occupied territories, our partisans are working. According to the latest data, a powerful explosion was heard in the temporarily occupied Berdyansk in the Zaporozhye region. Almost simultaneously, an explosion was also heard in Melitopol.
- Also, recently, in the temporarily occupied Melitopol, Zaporozhye region, an apartment with a whole family of collaborators was blown up at night. The explosion occurred in a house at 40 Schmidt Street. 2 people were killed – residents of Melitopol. Although the mayor subsequently reported that one person was killed and another was wounded.
- In addition, Ivan Fedorov said that the FSB blew up a police collaborator in Melitopol. So they wanted to eliminate the so-called “Chief of the People's Police Department”.
