The White House says NATO allies are not concerned about Biden's candidacy

The White House assured that US NATO allies had no concerns about President Joe Biden's candidacy after his poor debate performance with Donald Trump.

This was stated by National Security Council Speaker John Kirby.

NATO Allies Have No Concerns About Biden

The White House on Monday dismissed speculation that Biden would have to reassure U.S. allies of his fitness for duty ahead of the Washington summit.

Now Watching

“I think your question suggests that they need to be reassured of American leadership and President Biden’s commitment,” National Security Council spokesman John Kirby said in response to reporters’ questions.

Kirby added that the administration “sees no sign of that (concern – ed.) from our allies.”

“Probably the opposite.” The conversations we're having with them in advance indicate that they're excited about this summit,” Kirby said.

He also added that he was not aware of any conversations between allies expressing concern about Joe Biden's health.

Biden-Trump Debates

The Biden-Trump debate took place on June 27. However, many politicians, experts and the media called these televised debates unsuccessful for both candidates.

Experts noted that the current president seemed very tired, often did not finish his opinion, jumped from topic to topic.

Trump manipulated and told outright lies in his speech. In addition, he often shouted and was nervous.

Then Joe Biden commented on the televised debate with Republican Donald Trump and called it a bad episode.

According to the president, he was sick then and felt terrible. Doctors tested him for Covid-19. But it turns out Joe Biden had a really bad cold.
