The White House has begun developing plans for a meeting in San Francisco between US President Joe Biden and Chinese leader Xi Jinping. The meeting is planned for November.
This is reported by the American edition of the Washington Post, citing senior White House officials.
In an attempt to forge new relations with China, four senior Biden administration officials have visited in recent months Beijing, among them: Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen, Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo and climate envoy John Kerry.

However, contacts between top US military officials and their counterparts in Beijing remain frozen. although the Americans have repeatedly tried to arrange a meeting.
In March, Xi Jinping accused Washington of suppressing China in order to slow down its development. And last month, the Chinese Ministry of State Security published a message on social media saying that the prospects for a meeting between Xi and Biden will depend on the United States being sufficiently sincere.
Previously, Joe Biden said that China is experiencing real economic difficulties and called Xi a dictator.
Nevertheless, at a press conference in June, Biden repeatedly made it clear that he was counting on a meeting with the leader of the PRC — sometime in the future, in the near future.
