“Passion is raging” around the war in Israel and the IDF operation in the Gaza Strip against Hamas, and there are more and more diplomatic moves from countries in the Global South recalling their ambassadors.
This was stated by the executive director of the Center for Middle Eastern Studies, Igor Semivolos, during a briefing at Media Center Ukraine.
“The loudest of these passions is the position of Turkey, which they demonstrated, directly by President Erdogan during the rally and then voiced by Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan,” the expert emphasized.

In his opinion, the diplomatic tour carried out by US Secretary of State Antony Blinken to the countries of the Middle East also remains important, the task of which is to support a coalition of restrained Arab countries and prevent Russia, China and Iran from gaining strength in the region.
“And the main thing, obviously, is resolving the issue – what will happen to Gaza after Hamas.” As far as I know, the EU has also already decided on its position. Relatively speaking, three “nos” – to Hamas in Gaza, Israel in Gaza and the blockade of Gaza,” Semivolos added.
On October 28, during a pro-Palestinian rally at the airport in Istanbul, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan blamed the West for the bloodshed in the Gaza Strip.
At the same time, he did not mention the attack by Hamas militants on Israel on October 7, which began a new round of conflict between Israel, Hamas and Arab countries.
