Commander of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Alexey Neizhpapa said that the Crimean Bridge, illegally built by Russia during the occupation of the Ukrainian peninsula, will be destroyed this year.
“I think the wait won’t be long, at least this year for sure,” the military leader assured.
When asked by journalist Dmitry Gordon whether the Crimean Bridge could be considered potentially “dead”, Neizhpapa answered in the affirmative and added that he knew how to do it.
At the same time, he did not predict in advance the timing of the deoccupation of Crimea itself: this could happen both before the attack on the Kerch crossing, and after.

— It’s hard to say about this now. “Everything depends on the situation at the front,” the vice admiral noted.
Crimean Bridge
The construction of a crossing connecting the Kerch and Taman peninsulas through the island of Tuzla and the Tuzla Spit began at the initiative of the Kremlin after the illegal annexation of Crimea by Russia in 2014.
Opening “nakhalstroy” took place on May 15, 2018 with the personal participation of Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.
Consists of two parallel bridges – a road bridge, which is part of the A-290 road (Kerch – Novorossiysk), and a railway bridge, which is part of the Bagerovo – Vyshesteblievskaya line.
It has a total length of 19 km, and is the longest bridge ever built by Russia.
The first powerful blow to the Kerch crossing took place on October 8, 2022, the day after Putin’s birthday, which gave rise to many photoshops and memes on the network.
The second explosion, which destroyed one of the road spans, occurred on July 17, 2023.
