Ukraine continues to discuss with its allies the issue of making a decision on providing Kiev with ATACMS and Taurus long-range missiles; at the moment there is progress on both tracks.
Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba stated this on air at the United News telethon .
— We are very actively involved in this. The President holds daily negotiations or meetings to speed up deliveries of what has already been promised and to obtain new commitments from partners to transfer weapons to us. There are, of course, some super-priority topics – first of all, air defense systems, — noted the head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry.
Now they are watching
According to him, active work also continues on receiving long-range ATACMS missiles from the United States and Taurus from Germany.
— There is progress on both tracks, but, of course, the final decision has not yet been made in Berlin and Washington, — said Dmitry Kuleba.
Recall that CNN reported that in recent weeks, discussions on the transfer of ATACMS long-range missiles to Ukraine have significantly intensified in the United States and that President Joe Biden will soon make a final decision.
At the same time, on September 12, the State Department emphasized that the United States has not yet changed its position regarding the provision of missiles of this type to Kiev.
President Vladimir Zelensky will try to convince Biden to transfer ATACMS this fall.
Meanwhile, Dmitry Kuleba noted that Germany is moving forward with the issue of transferring Taurus long-range cruise missiles to Ukraine.
The decision on this is on the table of German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
