The United States will provide Ukraine with a new batch of missiles for Patriot for the first time queue. Because of this, Switzerland will have to wait longer for weapons.

What is known about the transfer of missiles to Patriot

The United States decided to first supply Ukraine with more Patriot missiles. Since Russia has been delivering heavy blows to it for several months, official Kyiv is urgently asking other countries to transfer more air defense systems, the publication stated.

They explained that Switzerland in the fall of 2023 signed a contract with the United States for the purchase of missiles. Its goal is to strengthen Swiss air defense. The contract provided for PAC-3 missiles for 300 million Swiss francs (that is, 340 million dollars).

And, despite the contracts, Washington decided to send the missiles to Ukraine as a priority.< /p>

“One thing is clear: global demand now significantly exceeds the production capacity of Patriot guided missiles,” the journalists explained.

They also noted that Washington reserved the right to deviate from the agreed terms if there are extraordinary or compelling reasons for doing so and if it affects US national security interests.
