The United States is ready to deploy long-range Tomahawk and SM-6 missiles on German territory to strengthen the defense of NATO allies on the European continent.

The German newspaper Tagesschau reports this.

Journalists refer to the statement made by the United States and Germany jointly on the sidelines of the NATO summit in Washington.

Official Berlin noted that it has modern long-range Taurus missiles capable of penetrating deep into enemy territory at low altitudes and destroying enemy command posts, bunkers and systems. But they are launched from airplanes.

At the same time, the American Tomahawk is launched from ships or submarines.

Tomahawk missile — characteristics

The first development of the American Tomahawk missile began in the early 70s, and tests were carried out since February 1976.

To store the boat version of a modern rocket, a steel capsule weighing 454 kg, filled with nitrogen under low pressure, is used. This allows the missile to remain combat ready for up to 30 months.
