The United States expects Russia to acknowledge its involvement in the intoxication of Alexei Navalny. This was stated by the US Permanent Representative to NATO Kay Bailey Hutchison, RIA Novosti reports.
“We look at Russia and expect it to take a step forward and admit that it was done in Russia, and someone will be held accountable for it,” said a Washington spokeswoman. She recalled that a number of NATO countries also want to take action in the future because of what happened to Navalny.
Earlier on September 10, it was reported that Alexei Navalny, who is in the German clinic “Charite”, completely recovered from a coma, from which he was taken out on September 7. He is known to have recalled the events leading up to his hospitalization, and his state of health is “better than one would expect in such a situation.” At the same time, doctors said that physically Navalny will be able to recover at least 90 percent. Mentally, he has already recovered almost completely.
On September 2, the German government announced that military toxicologists had found traces of a substance from the Novichok group in Navalny's body and called on the Russian government to respond to this information.
Navalny became ill on August 20 during a flight from Tomsk to Moscow. In the first two days, doctors from the Omsk hospital helped him, after which Navalny was transported to Germany.
