In the United States, training of Ukrainian pilots on the F-16 multirole fighters has already started.
This was reported by the press service of the US Department of Defense.
Ukrainians are trained in the operation and maintenance of aircraft in both the United States and Europe.

“The US Department of Defense is already involved in training ready Ukrainian pilots to fly the F-16 aircraft,” the report notes.
In parallel, the United States is addressing the issue of providing Ukraine with spare parts for these fighters.
According to Deputy Secretary of Defense for Acquisition William LaPlante, without spare parts, the F-16 fighters that Ukraine will receive could fail within a few months.
Therefore, the US wants to provide a 90-day supply of spare parts for these aircraft.
“We will not allow this to happen… And if other countries do not provide spare parts, we will find and provide them,” LaPlante assured.
The Pentagon recalled that the US State Department announced its readiness to approve the transfer of American-made F-16 aircraft to Ukraine from third countries. The Netherlands, Denmark and Norway have announced their intention to provide these fighters.

Earlier, Western media reported that F-16 fighter pilot training in the United States would take place at the Air National Guard base in Arizona. Pilots first had to learn the basics of flying the F-16, including in simulators, and then move on to flying real aircraft.
Ukrainian training on American F-16 fighters also started in Romania.
