The US and Israel are exploring options for the future of the Gaza Strip if Israeli forces succeed in ousting Hamas.
Bloomberg writes about this, citing sources familiar with this issue.
They said the conversations were prompted by the need to urgently develop a plan for Gaza's future as the IDF launched a ground invasion.

One option under consideration includes the possibility of creating a multinational force that could include American troops.
The second option would create a peacekeeping force modeled on those that oversee the implementation of the 1979 peace treaty between Egypt and Israel.
In addition, the United States and Israel are thinking about temporary UN supervision of Gaza.
Bloomberg's interlocutors emphasized that negotiations are still at an early stage and much can change. Some US officials consider these options premature or unlikely.
“We cannot allow a return to the status quo, with Gaza being run by Hamas… We also cannot allow—and the Israelis themselves are starting with this sentence—for Israel to govern or control Gaza.” There are many possible permutations between these two points that we are now considering very carefully, as are other countries, said US Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
Israeli officials have repeatedly said Israel has no intention of occupying Gaza but views continued Hamas rule as unacceptable after the Oct. 7 attack in which the group killed 1,400 Israelis and took more than 200 hostage.

Moreover, it is not yet clear whether Arab countries might be interested in participating, another person said.
Earlier it was reported that US President Joe Biden would veto a bill to provide an aid package only to Israel, without funds for Ukraine.
