The United States wants to send additional military advisers to its embassy in Kyiv, which shows the United States' commitment to Ukraine.
This was stated by Pentagon Press Secretary Major General Pet Ryder, Politico reports.
According to Pat Ryder, the advisers will not perform a combat role, but will advise and support the Ukrainian government and the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

— Throughout the conflict, the U.S. Department of Defense reviewed and adjusted our presence in the country as security conditions changed. We are currently considering sending several additional advisers to strengthen the Office of Defense Cooperation (ODC) at the embassy (in Kyiv – Ed.), Ryder said.
ODC is staffed exclusively by Pentagon employees — they provide advice and carry out support missions other than combat ones.
For reasons of operational security, the Pentagon refused to say how many American military advisers will go to Ukraine.
What will American advisers do
The advisers will support logistics and oversee weapons the United States sends to Ukraine, according to four U.S. officials and a person familiar with the plans. Also, the Ukrainian military will be assisted in maintaining weapons.
