The US said that Ukraine could get additional MLRS/Channel 24 Collage
The White House said that Ukraine could receive heavy weapons in the new military aid package. In particular, additional HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems.
We expect further delivery of these systems. This was stated by US national security adviser Jake Sullivan.
Weapons need to be properly integrated
The official recalled that four such MLRS have already been sent to Ukraine . He also noted that it is important to properly integrate these weapons at the front.
We have to do it gradually and the main thing we think about when doing this is how many of them can be effectively integrated on the battlefield, Sullivan added.
He explained that as the number of systems increases, the number of trained personnel should increase . The process should take place in the coming weeks and months.
It should be noted that on the eve of the head of the Office of the President Andriy Yermak said that the Ukrainian military is already completing training on HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems. Soon the MLRS will start working on the side of Ukraine. By the way, they should arrive before the end of June.
New aid package from the US
- On June 15, US President Joe Biden announced the allocation of a new $1 billion military aid package to Ukraine. This will include additional artillery and coastal defense weapons, as well as ammunition for artillery and advanced missile systems.
- The States will also provide Ukraine with additional $225 million in humanitarian aid. The money will be used to supply safe drinking water, medical supplies, food, housing and other assistance to Ukrainian families.
- Biden announced the new package after a conversation with President Volodymyr Zelensky. The Ukrainian leader, in turn, thanked his colleague. He stressed that this support is very important for us.
- Recall that in May the United States allocated $40 billion to help Ukraine. Biden signed the relevant law on May 21. A significant part of the resources will be sent to defense.
