The United States must provide assistance to Ukraine, there are no alternatives – Zelensky and Harris in Munich

There is no backup plan in the event of a failure in the US Congress to allocate aid to Ukraine. At the same time, Ukraine is not considering an alternative option, otherwise the United States cannot be considered a strategic partner.

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky and US Vice President Kamalla Harris stated this during a joint press conference at the Munich Security Conference.

What could be plan B

— We only have one plan — A. Provide Ukraine with what it needs. I am confident that the additional aid package will be voted for. I am sure that there is a consensus of the two parties. Must be our answer — stay with friends, — Kamalla Harris emphasized.

According to the US Vice President, the issue of supporting Ukraine remains key. She explained that the United States has become a global leader on the principles of sovereignty and inviolability of borders, so it cannot play political games.

Ukraine is not considering alternatives

— For us, this package (support from the USA, — Ed.) — vital. If we are talking about an alternative — then this is not a strategic partner, — said the President of Ukraine.

According to Zelensky, the adoption of an aid package for Ukraine in the American Congress is not yet enough for victory. He believes that more work by the allies is needed to move forward, which is much more important than stagnation on the battlefield.

At the same time, the head of state claims that he does not consider the process of passing a bill in the United States a treasonous position. However, he does not believe that a strategic partner can afford not to support Ukraine.
