US Assistant Secretary of State for Energy Resources Geoffrey Pyatt said that the United States is ready to allocate up to $500 million to support the energy system of Ukraine, which with the onset of cold weather is under the threat of Russian shelling.
He noted that the United States has already provided Ukraine with more than $520 million in assistance to support the energy sector and expressed confidence in the allocation of an additional $500 million.
Where will the funds be sent?
These funds will be used to address the immediate needs of the energy infrastructure, including the acquisition of new transformers and the establishment of production facilities to restore the energy infrastructure.

The Assistant Secretary of State for Energy Resources also noted that the United States is actively cooperating with the Ukrainian government to develop a decentralized energy system that is fully integrated into the European context.
He noted that Vladimir Putin's attempts to use winter conditions as a weapon will not lead to success, emphasizing that the people of Ukraine will maintain their determination.
