The United States is preparing new sanctions against Russia. America plans to hit the defense supply chain.
In addition to sanctions on businesses in sectors that contribute to Russia's malign activities, the US wants to disrupt critical supply chains. This was announced on March 29 by US Deputy Secretary of the Treasury Wally Adeyemo.
New sanctions proposed by the US
In general, Washington is planning measures against additional sectors , which are critical to Russia's ability to control its war machine. This will undermine Russia's ability to create and maintain instruments of war that depend on these resources.
The United States plans to involve its partners, of which there are more than 30, in these actions.
We will begin to coordinate these actions with more than 30 partners and allies who have joined our coalition in response to Russia's invasion of Ukraine. – said the Deputy Secretary of the Treasury.
In addition, Adeyemo stressed that allies and partners are committed to this cause. They plan to “take additional important measures to contain the Russian economy as long as the Russian invasion continues.”
